The Vienna City Marathon 2026 has been a great event once again. I took over the creative coordination and planning to provide content before, throughout and after the event. With creating both photography and videography as well as in close collaboration with several freelancers we were able to create stunning visuals that matched the brand identity of the brand HOKA as well as the Vienna Running collective. In the following you will se a curated selection of pictures and created video materials from the weekend.
Before the marathon weekend even started, we came together with HOKA to highlight the race kit that was especially designed for the race weekend. We chose the historic landmark of Cafe Landtmann in Vienna and created a well rounded image collection combining the running world with the historic flair of Vienna to lead up to the marathon weekend.
To create even more suspense, I created a running teaser in collaboration with HOKA and the VRC, building suspense and using a creative outlet on social media to bring the attention to the pop up space of the Vienna Running Collective before the race weekend. Here you can see the piece:
The Panel talk two days before the event was an integral part of the weekend. It allowed to bring together the community with experts in the field of running to get tipps and talk about the latest developments in the running scene. I captured the talk in a fitting manner with high quality visuals transferring the energy of the event to the audience. Here you can find a selection:
The day before the race was filled with a shake out run through the beautiful city of Vienna. I took over the creation of the highlight video as well as the coordination of photography and editing to provide a same day delivery with a high quality gallery to tap into the mood building towards race day. See the highlights here:
Then it was race day. Thousands of runners, gathering to run the marathon in the city of Vienna. We captured the athletes during the race and created an aftermovie of the weekend within one day to fully grasp all the emotions still present to highlight HOKA and the Vienna Running Collective during the marathon weekend.
To create a 360 coverage I developed the idea of in pop-up store medal portraits for people that want to make the marathon and their successful completion a lasting memory.
